Why be self confident?

Having suffered from it myself, self confidence is definitely one of the toughest things to have and an even tougher one to master. "What do my friends think about me?". "Do I look good in these clothes?". "Am I really that bad that everyone dislikes me?". Repeatedly questioning ourselves and trying to fit in the society's definition of perfect causes children and adults alike to lose their sense of identity and individualism. Perfection, instead of being an ideal, has become a compulsion. We live in a society where we are constantly faced with challenges. Academic pressure, thirst to follow and abide by the latest trends, be "enough" for our friends and family. It is natural to be scrutinized by everyone around us, and we will from time to time. However, what we as youngsters should stop is longing for others approval. You do not have to ask your best friend before wearing a dazzling attire, you do not have to send your picture to a thousand people before posting it and you do not have to be accepted by everyone, because you cannot. All you have to do is to be accepted and content with yourself :) Self confidence, in my opinion, is the backbone of our life. Self confidence keeps you going. It gives you the right motivation to work to be the best of yourself. If no one has told to you for some time, I will - YOU are enough. YOU will get through whatever is going on in your life with a little bit of courage and self confidence.
